WELCOME !! HELP YOUR CHILD HAVE A GOOD YEAR... - Be active in your childs school life - Each day ask your child how their day was - Set routines for your child's homework and bedtime - Review papers that come home with your child - Enjoy a book together each night - Praise your child for his efforts and success - Attend school events - Contact the school if you have any questions
Hassle-Free Homework START ON DAY 1 AND BE CONSISTENT ALL YEAR...
- Write your assignments in your assignment book. Make sure everything you need is in your book bag at the end of the day.
- Set up a regular time to study. Rule of thumb is THE EARLIER THE BETTER.
- Make sure you have ALL your supplies before you sit down to do your work, such as; pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, a dictionary etc. Having to stop and search for things you need wastes time and breaks your concentration.
- Have a regular homework place. It should be a clean, quiet place where you can concentrate and make good use of homework time.
- Don’t expect parents to sit beside you while you do your work. Their job is to provide you with a quiet place to do homework with NO distractions (such as TV, phone calls, or brothers or sisters bothering you), and to answer questions if you don’t understand something. They can check over your homework when you have finished it, if you want.
- When your homework is finished, pack your book bag IMMEDIATELY and put it in your Drop Spot. This will help you to remember to take it back to school in the morning.
Finally your work is done, so go enjoy the rest of your evening!

Our Philosophy St. Thomas School provides a well-rounded, academic education in a Catholic atmosphere. Each child is treated as an individual as well as part of the class and total school community. The physical, social, cultural, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child are met within his/her stage of development.
The primary purpose of this school is to promote Christian values and to buildrespect for God, self, and others. The basis of these values is the worship of God through prayer and the sacraments. The worship experience and the religious instruction is a vital and integral aspect of the daily life of the school.
The experience of worship leads naturally to a desire to serve others in the spirit of Christ Himself. This school strives to encourage and facilitate works of service to the global community and for students to be responsible Christian Citizens.
Parents are very influential in the education of their children. A mutually agreeable partnership between parents and teachers is encouraged to provide the highest level of achievement for the individual student.
St. Thomas School parents, teachers, and students are asked to note the words of Pope John Paul II, “Catholic education is above all a question of communicating Christ, helping to form Christ in the lives of others.”

Catholic Schools Prayer
Thank You, Father, for the blessing of our Catholic School. We are grateful that our faith is taught in our school, and that we can worship and pray as a school community. Help us to grow in Faith, Hope and Love as we are taught about You, Your Church and our own salvation.
Thank You, Jesus, for the blessing of all the parishes, priests, and Catholic School supporters that make our school possible. We are grateful for the long tradition of committed Catholics who began our school and preserved it through the years, and also for those who work for its future. Help us to follow their example of Service and Generosity when it is our turn to preserve the Faith.
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for the blessing of our parents, principal and teachers. We are grateful for the grace and wisdom You give them as they teach and guide us. Help us to grow in our understanding of the world around us and grant us the strength to make right choices when the world challenges what is right and holy.
We ask this in Your name: in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
