The Fayette County Chapter of the National Right to Life organization took part in the national Life Chain event on Sunday, Oct. 2. Members of the group stood on the side of Hwy. 171 N across from Walmart with signs denouncing the practice of abortion in this country. Approximately 35 people attended the event. “It is so important to show America stands for life,” said Marcus McDonald, one of the organizers of the local event. “Most of America is very much pro-life. About three-quarters of Americans want restrictions put on abortion, which is the taking of innocent human life.” Sharon Brackner, pastor at First Assembly of God in Fayette, spoke briefly to the group before ending the rally.
