On Saturday, June 13, 2009, Alabama Right to Life was joined in heart, in spirit, and in firm resolution by over 75 groups across America to speak out for the right to live for the preborn human being as we marched across the Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama and rallied on the Capitol steps in Montgomery.
As we listened to our featured speakers, Dr. Alveda King and Rai Rojas we were charged with the reality of the sanctity of life and our responsibility to let the truth be known that human life exists from the moment of fertilization and that the Declaration of Independence affirms first and foremost the right to life. Welcome to our website! We hope you find it informative and that the knowledge you gain will help you and encourage you to act on behalf of the most helpless of human life.
We are non-denominational but... Christians take seriously the words of Our Lord: "Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me." (Matt. 25:45), and "from man in regard to his fellow man I will demand an accounting for human life." (Gen. 9:5). In other words, each of us is accountable for, and will be judged for what we do and do not do. We must be vocal for human life in our country today.
We are non-partisan but... At the present time, Alabama is gifted with a prolife delegation in Washington, with both senators and five of seven representatives solidly with us.
We know that the vast majority of the 2007 state Legislators is prolife, from both parties. However, some in leadership positions, especially in the Senate, have blocked prolife legislation in the past. ACL is taking the lead and lobbying for prolife bills, but we need your help to encourage prolife legislators and to try to change pro-abortion legislators.
When elections come, we must qualify each candidate before we even consider giving he or she our vote. Any candidate who does not believe in the inalienable right to life for all human beings including those in the womb and the research dish simply does not qualify to be a candidate and should only get our vote if he or she is the "lesser of two evils." We must vote pro-life!
We are a non-profit organization but... We need your contributions to help educate the general populace on pro-life issues. There are so many misconceptions that people believe to be the truth because of the propaganda of the Culture of Death, supported by our tax money and those who believe that the ends justify the means.
