FRTL Demands Obama End Torture
Of Children in Florida, and Elsewhere
"The Obama administration and his political supporters in Florida refuse to permit pain-relieving anesthesia for the baby to avoid the agony of dismemberment, poisoning, and death," said Adam Goldman, Vice President for Legislative Affairs.

Greetings and welcome to the Florida Right to Life website.
The Right to Life movement has accomplished so much in the past but we still have so far to go. We are a movement in flux as the fight for life now include such issues as embryonic stem cell research, cloning, euthanasia, medicare reform, etc. As you can see our work is only just beginning, and with your help we can accomplish so much.
Florida Right to Life can not exist without your financial help, fighting these battles are costly. We are the largest single issue organization in Florida and we will continue to fight and be the voice for the vulnerable, from the moment of conception until natural death!

p.s. To give you an idea of what we are doing, I have listed our Top Priorities.
PRIORITY 1 - We support The Citizens for Science and Ethics Inc. in their efforts to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot which states, "No revenue of the state shall be spent on experimentation that involves the destruction of a live human embryo."
In order to be on the ballot, they need 611,009 petitions signed by registered voters - registered in Florida.

Be aware that there are 2 kinds of stem cell research that are very different and must always be differentiated between.
WE ARE FOR ADULT STEM CELL RESEARCH (ASCR). Adult stem cells are found in the born human body, does not kill, has 73 known cures, and has helped hundreds of thousands of patients.
WE ARE AGAINST EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH (ESCR). Embryonic stem cells are found in the unborn human body which must be killed to harvest their stem cells.
WE ARE AGAINST GOVERNMENT FUNDING OF EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH mainly because it is immoral but also because there are NO known cures, BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in private funding has not proven successful, and so it is a GROSS WASTE OF TAX MONEY.
On May 31, 2007, the Florida state Supreme Court approved the amendment to be place on the ballot contingent on acquiring 611,009 petitions.
Please encourage registered voters of Florida to complete & mail in the OFFICIAL PETITION. Print it out, fill it out in ink, and be sure to date it. A petition must be dated to be considered valid. You may use your date of birth if your voter registration number is not handy.

PRIORITY 2 - Defeating proposed legislation that would allow taxpayer funds to pay for embryonic stem cell research. This bill would spend $15 million in state funds each year over 10 years for stem cell research including the kind that results in the destruction of human life.
PRIORITY 3 - FRTL wants to make this happen: Groundwork has begun for legislation to change the law on a state level to recognize the destruction of a pregnant woman and her unborn child through the criminal act of violence be charged with two deaths "regardless" of the timing and age of the pre-born baby. This effort is a result of the Titusville death of twenty-one year old Laura Ann Davis who was four months pregnant when she was strangled to death January 23, 2006. The man charged with her slaying, John Moore, was not charged in the death of the baby because state law hinges on the ability of the unborn child to survive outside of the womb. PRIORITY 4 - Parental Notification law: The "girl's best interest" use in the law is too vague and is allowing judges to grant any abortion requests. Since the law went into effect in 2005, after 65 percent of state residents voted for it, there have been hundreds of requests for the judicial bypass. This was not the intent of Florida voters who approved a parental notification constitutional amendment by a 65 to 35 percent margin. Judges are only supposed to grant it in cases when teens are victims of parental abuse. Minors are routinely approved for secret abortions without their parents’ knowledge. This leaves the law wide-open for the judge to make the determination that any negative consequence to the minor eliminates the parents' right-to-know under the Florida Constitution.
PRIORITY 5 - And last but not least, a story that will touch your heart. This is a case reminiscent of the Terri Schiavo case.
