ABOUT THE FILM
Our special group of volunteers, called The "Mama’s Plan" Film Group, is happy to announce that we have now finally completed our project. We have been busy distributing the film to various schools, agencies, organizations, and the like. We have all worked very hard, and we are very excited with the results.
This project mainly targets the young girls who are pregnant out of wedlock, and who do not know what to do regarding their unwanted pregnancies. Our main objective is to discourage them from abandoning, discarding, or harming their newborn babies in any way. This film is NOT about abortion! We are NOT a political group! It’s NOT about entertainment! It is a much-needed educational film, which will give these girls options and alternatives.
In our "SPECIAL PRESENTATION" segment, you will view very important features, which will give much information, and will speak about the "Safe-Haven" laws that began in 1999. We also deal with two other subjects; child sexual abuse and teen prostitution. At the end of the film, you will notice many places that the viewers can contact, should they need help with any of these issues. This film is not really meant for the older crowd. It is designed to attract the young teenaged girls, and scare them straight. That is why the writer showed a very powerful strong ending. She believed that anyone who watched this film would definitely NOT hurt their newborn baby.
We have some good news to tell you. We have already had opportunities to help many people in numerous ways. Last summer, we did interviews (via telephone) to various places in Ohio, as well as to other states. We explained to young girls that if they could not keep their newborns, they could surrender their baby, during the first few days, to any ER station in a hospital, or to a police or fire station, without any questions asked, and with no risk of prosecution.

I N T R O D U C T I O N
Hi there. My name is Esty Crissman, and I am so glad that my vision for the film, “Mama’s Plan”, has become a reality. I had many obstacles along the way, but it is a miracle that I am even here, to see this film helping people all over the country. Even though I am seriously ill and disabled, I am very passionate about the young girls who do not know that they can get assistance, if they have an unexpected and unwanted baby. We hear horrible stories weekly on the news about young girls who do terrible things to their newborn babies. This is an epidemic that must be stopped! We all agree that there are too many options for these girls, and they DO NOT need to harm their children!
In 2005, I heard about the girl who placed her baby boy in a trash can, in Tower City, Cleveland, and left him to die. This was so horrifying, and as a songwriter, I knew I had to address this issue in some way. I began by writing the title song for the film, and it was recorded on February of 2006.
Then, I realized that this was too heavy of a subject for just a song, so the idea of an educational film came to mind, and I proceeded with finding people to join our group. Many were interested in the cause, and I enlisted the help of a few people who worked on the computer to locate many actors, actresses, crew members, etc. I worked numerous hours on this project, and sacrificed a lot for it.
I wrote the story, and met with people in my home, to rehearse them. This was a huge endeavor, but after two years, we completed this film, in March of 2008. Our Gala Premiere event on April 4, 2008 was very successful, even though I was too ill to attend. This was my first screenplay.
Fortunately, Tim Conway and William Alexander (two area producers) helped me with ideas, and after six months, the manuscript was ready. It was hard to find a young man to play the role of "Charlie", but after much perseverance, he appeared, and away we went. This is a film that will touch people’s lives. I have not received any money for all my efforts. I did not want or expect any compensation!
With my past studies in social work, music education, and some journalism, I felt that I would be able to produce this film, and I am so thankful that I did. I also wrote and published two articles. One is called "Throw-Away Babies", and the second one is called "Babies Having Babies."
